How To Quickly Calculate Your Estimated Due Date
Estimating your baby’s due date just takes a little arithmetic and a calendar. You do not necessarily need to know the exact date of conception, just use these simple steps to estimate your approximate due date. This method uses the assumption that you ovulated and conceived 7 days from the finish of your last period.
1. Estimate when the first day of your last period began.
2. Add seven days to this date.
3. Count back 3 months and then add a year.
For example, if the first day of your last period was January 10, 2007 add seven days to get January 17th. Go back 3 months from this date to October 17th, than add one year; your estimated due date would then be October 17th, 2008.
While this is just a rough estimate of your due date, it is a fun way to quickly calculate when you may be expecting the arrival of your baby. Remember that as soon as you have confirmed your pregnancy, you will need to see a doctor to begin prenatal care. Your doctor may be able to pinpoint a more accurate due date using ultrasound.
